This photo was taken along one of the many coastal trails at Point Lobos State Reserve in Carmel-by-the-sea, CA. It was pretty cloudy for most of the 4 hours that I hiked. I noticed a spot out in the ocean where the sunlight was peaking through the clouds so I set up my iPhone on a tripod, lined up my shot and waited for some sea birds to pass by. I took multiple shots that varied in the number of birds that were in the frame but ultimately decided on going with this image of just a single pelican passing by the light.
