Taken over the course of 2 - 3 hours in a stationary position to allow for the seamless transition. My favorite part about this technique is how frustrated the other photographers get as they run around trying to figure out a composition, realizing that I have the best position as I was there before them they then proceed to put their tripod as close to mine as physically possible.
