Sanctity in Chaos

This photo meant more to me personally than any photo I photographed in the past year or so. It might even be one of the most personal photo of my life. It was taken amidst the Covid-19 Pandemic as I scramble to find my way home to Taiwan when the U.S was in the process of shutting it's borders along with the world. This photo was a photo that signified the end of my 50+ hour from JFK to Haneda International Airport to Taipei Songshan Airport. What was unique about this was this was early morning on a ghost flight by ANA from Haneda to Taipei. The original flight time was 4 hours and 15 minutes but due to the urgency and the lack of passenger the crew opted to fly at 40,000ft and at a speed far faster than normal cruising speed and we got the there in 3 hours and 17 minutes. The photo that was snapped through the variable tinted windows of the 787 acted as a natural ND filter for me helped me see how small we are in this enormous place we call home. It made me appreciate what I was coming home to. It also gave me the feeling that I was in space even though I was still in Earth's Atmosphere
