The Castle and the Space Station

In honour of Space Exploration Day here is a shot of the International Space Station passing over the ruins of Dunstanburgh Castle, Northumberland, UK.

Standing on a remote headland and surrounded by shear cliffs and rocks the castle is an imposing sight.
This shot is a series of 13 images merged into one in order to show almost the entire 6 minute pass of the station. It was particularly bright as it passed over the castle shortly after midnight on the 17th July.

An awe inspiring experience and worth the late night in order to capture it.
