Having visited this dock for over 32 years I still find things about it that surprise me. My goal with the shot was to light paint the dock with a flash light with a small LED light at the end. Usually light pollution creeps just above the treeline that I intended to play off of with my small lantern. But on this night the glow in the background was dim, and the stars showed them selves brightly as though to welcome their little brother on the lake.
