North Shore Morning

The sun rises over a little island on the North shore of Lake Superior, near Grand Marais, Minnesota. Lake Superior is full of little islands like this along it’s North Shore. While this particular island has no “official” name, locals and photographers sometimes refer to it as “The Tombolo”, which means “island connected to land”. During periods where the lake levels are low, it can be possible to walk out to the “island”, though it’s been several years since it’s been low enough. Taken August 2020.
