While camping/hiking through North Carolina I found this gorgeous view that was only visible from the back corner of a hairpin turn in the path. I thought it was an interesting and very different angle of the waterfall. The bright yellow River Birch above contrasted with the rock in the foreground and the steps on the right contrasted with the waterfall on the left, to me, makes this a strange but interesting composition.
The photo was shot at F8 because I wanted the main focus to be the rock in the foreground and the River birch above. The softer focus allows the eyes to wander more comfortably in this busy scene and permits the waterfall to make a presence without being the main attraction.
