Curious cyclists peer inside the "Jackrabbit Homestead" by Kim Stringfellow. Her installation at the art festival "Desert X 2021" explores the legacy of the Small Tract Act in California's Morongo Basin region near Joshua Tree National Park. Her recreation of a 122 sq foot cabin built from a kit was not uncommon among California desert homesteaders in the 1950s.
