German Simonson's picture

The concept is simple - to create a nice looking image out of something inherently ugly, like the industrial object here. This is a direction and style I've been working in for the last three years, something I call "Industrial Fine Art". This particular photo was quite simple in execution - the right angle and composition, proper light (or absence of sunlight), modest clarity and contrast and then some clean up in Photoshop.

Channelling the Bechers again, German! That's a compliment, not an accusation of plagiarism or being merely derivative. These images of yours have a distinctive stamp, whether colour or mono. You are one of the most consistently impressive Fstoppers in my view.
