Lionel BigThumb in Owl Canyon

Lionel BigThumb and his family are the only granted family to allow access to Owl and Rattlesnake Canyons, in Page, Arizona. He graciously showed me around their canyons, while sharing the history of his Navajo ancestry and the land that blesses them. They were incredibly blessed to grow up, running through these many slot canyons in their backyard. Every Spring, they bless the canyons with a ceremonial offering to honor what the beautiful land provides. As they place the offering, they wait as a gust blows through and carries it away, a sign that the canyon has accepted it. #nvrtmrw
