Midday in a small tidal pool, with the rising tide in Fish Hoek, Cape Town, South Africa.
The other day I read a story about how our local SPCA (the animal welfare people) rescued 100's of Starfish off our beach. I'm always grateful there are people dedicated to saving even the smaller, less influential animals.
I decided that when conditions were right I would go out and photograph these creatures in one of the many tidal pools around my area. Shouldn't be hard, there are 100's if not 1,000's of them all over.
Unfortunately for me, they must have see me coming, because search as I might I found only a few, tucked away in nooks and crannies, impossible to photograph.
Then I came across this little one and was super grateful for the shot. Though to me it looks a lot less happy to be found!
