Piódão is a scenic village located just 1.5 - 2 hours drive from Coimbra. However, it's not the distance that affects the travel time, but the curves in the mountain roads. The journey to this place is an adventure in itself and the views are worth every adrenaline rush.
Despite the paved road connecting Piódão with nearby towns, it is still an isolated place. There is something beautiful but also somewhat humbling about it.
