As we journeyed to the Uintas mountains the weather was a bit strange. As we emerged from our garage the skies were blue as forecast but the minute the canyon came into view we could see the low lying clouds covering the entrance. For the next 45 minutes of our journey we enjoyed something I hadn't experienced much of since we departed Germany just over eight years ago..the fog of morning.
Hi Mark! I actually immediately thought this WAS one of your photos from Germany, which to my mind, have been your best overall (sorry!). I love the abstraction and sense of floating in this mist. This image reminds me in some ways of the work of one of my favourite photographers, Michael Kenna. His images are often rather stark, but he also sometimes captures atmosphere beautifully, as you have here. Nice work!
Thanks Chris and being mentioned in the breath of Michael Kenna is an honor...love his work. I miss those mornings, who knows, maybe we will move back to Europe.
