Big. Orange. Feet.

This big beauty lives with her mate in a huge nest (estimated 500 lbs) very close to my house, so we're down there all the time for one reason or the other. I live on an Island and we have over 20 mated pairs that live here with us but these guys are close enough to be called neighbors.

On this particular day about two seconds before this shot was taken there was a nagging crow sitting right where this beauty is about to plant her big orange feet. Mr. Crow been taunting the nest and doing fly-bys at it for a couple of hours and momma finally had enough..

This shot is one in a sequence of 15 that all came out as nice as this one or better. Momma did a spectacular dive out of the nest and then went straight up at the adjoining tree and landed as you see here. My 7D2 was right at the limit of her capability considering the range that we were shooting from, but I think it did pretty well and the shots came out nice.

Would love a do-over with my R5, but I still own and love my 7D2 as well.
