Golden Goose

Canada geese are common to see just about everywhere in the U.S..They are not a subject a wildlife photographer would seek out to photograph. However, I find the lines of the neck and body to be elegant. I'd much rather create a beautiful image of a common subject than an average image of an uncommon subject. The keys to capturing this image were: 1. being there at the right time of day (just after sunrise) 2. having a cold morning (42 degrees) to create a mist coming off the water 3. positioning the goose behind the sun and laying prone in the wet grass to have my lens as close to water level as possible.
