Public Enemy

I’m exploring the male form in my self portraits as a way of confronting my feelings. This is me.

In the current zeitgeist my form represents shame, corruption, and oppression. I am told to not be proud of who I am. I am told not to embrace the things I had no choice to be. I am judged as the cause of the season of discontent.

However, I stand strongly in front of all, while looking away. I cannot change who I am. I am me. And therefore, in my vulnerability and strength I will stand in front of you. For vulnerability and strength are not mutually exclusive.
