A hidden triple waterfall in the mountains of Montana, USA. It was late June when I was hiking in the area. I had searched for this waterfall for awhile. It is not on maps and no trails lead to it. Then, one afternoon I climbed up a ridge and suddenly I spotted it. When I got there I realized that the main falls were still covered by snow bridges. Since it was unusually hot I decided to return next morning before sunrise hoping things would improve. I recorded the path back on my GPS so I would be able to find the location again in the dark. It was still pitch black when I returned and began to descend down to the falls. I was very careful (and loud!) as this is Grizzly bear country and I had brought bear spray, just in case. To get to the falls I "jumped" from snow field to snow field to ensure the fragile summer vegetation doesn't get damaged. The alpine meadows were full of blooming avalanche lilies. When I reached the falls I was happy to see that most of the snow covering the falls had melted away and the gap was wide open. It was an amazing experience being there and to witness the awakening of the day. I took this shot more than a decade ago and unfortunately the area is now closed and out of limit.
Fantastic photo. I think it's great. Very good capture of the water, the lights and shadows, as well as the evening light.
Congratulations and my like7
Thank you very much!
