Me and Mom

On a boat ride in Uganda we came across the cutest baby hippo and his mother. She was intently watching us to make sure there was no threat. Baby seemed curious but stayed very close to mom. The scene was sweet enough to almost let you forget mom would be very dangerous if she felt we were too close. For that reason, I used a 100-400 lens with a 1.4 teleconverter for 560 mm final focal length to keep a safe distance!
