Watching an Eruption

I was out one night exploring this old Volcanic crater channel when I heard that an eruption had started 40 km away. A 4km long lava spewing fissure had opened up, illuminating the whole sky. It had been snowing before this but it magically cleared up and I could see it very well, and the lava channel walls managed to frame it perfectly. I used my drone to illuminate myself, running back and forth triggering my shutter timer since my camera's wifi couldn't reach me where I was posing.

Man, this is an awesome story and even more awesome photo! I've always wanted to see an eruption live!

Thank you so much for that Patrick! I really appreciate your comment. It's kind of crazy to think that since 2021 we've had a new eruption happening every year, and one is even happening right now. So if you're travelling here soon you might just see one!
