... beautiful Image Juergen! Cheers Raymond :-)

Thank you, Raymond!

Congratulations. You deserve it!

Many thanks, Pedro!

Awesome picture! Congratulations Juergen! Bob

A superlative image! I can only imagine the dynamic range challenge that this must have been ..... what a wonderful job you did to manage the extreme range of light to dark!

Thank you very much, Tom! Coming from film I am still practicing "old school". For 90%+ of my landscapes with sky I use a gradient neutral density filter to balance contrast. I know I could have done a HDR approach with multiple exposures but I think with the cloud and flow movement I went for a single frame.

Love the tones and atmosphere!

Many thanks, Yurly!!

Did you see any wildlife when you were on Hurricane Ridge? Any Blacktail deer with good size antlers? Any Snowshoe Hares? Any Sooty Grouse? Any of the critically endangered Olympic Marmots?

It's been awhile, but I believe I saw some deer. But nothing like you have in your portfolio!

Blacktail Deer are the only deer species that lives in that area, and they have smaller antlers than either Mule Deer or Whitetail Deer ... so a "big rack" is something really special when it is on a Blacktail. And the biggest antlers I have ever seen on a Blacktail were on a buck that I saw just a few miles downslope from Hurricane Ridge. So really excellent trophy potential in that area for that species!

Congratulation on the PotD!
Very well deserved! Awesome image!

Thank you, Frank!

Stunning image. Reminds me of my mornings in Rhineland-pfalz, Germany.

Thank you very much. I know what you mean, I know that area quite well.

Magnificent Image !

Thank you, Raymond!
