Canyon Curves

Taken in one 4 minute exposure, just after blue hour at Grimes Canyon, CA. I hoped to capture the last rays of day light and the first stars.

I timed how long it would take cars to reach my frame as they passed behind me, then set my shutter speed to trail them through the whole frame. All while hoping cars would come up the hill at the same time. I got lucky with a car stopping, but I was nervous it's headlights would blow out the bottom left corner.

Next time, I'd love to make a composite image with longer star trails.

Shot with a Canon 6D and EF24-70mm at 24mm f/3.5 - 4 min - ISO 100
