Allouez Ore Docks

Historic ore docs on Allouez Bay, out past the East End of Superior, WI. My maternal grandfather and uncle worked these rail lines most of their lives. Hundreds of men used to be employed here per shift. My uncle says when he retired ~15 years ago there were fewer than a dozen men. Little is built with steel anymore and everything is automated now. Duluth, city of my birth, the Zenith City and queen of the greatest of the Great Lakes is now a beautiful ghost of its former power and glory.
