A photograph that shows homelessness is a worldwide issue. Well done.

Good morning Graham. You made my Saturday morning GREAT_THANK YOU! Although I am no longer a pro I still love my photography (probably more than ever)and have ambitions witin fStoppers. Immediate target is to raise from 3.8 to 3.9 and then 4. Your votes will help me greatly to that target. It is so pleasing, especially when-1. you have picked a lot of my older photos that were "in the back waters" and no longer get much attention. 2. Have you noticed that (hopefully with due modesty) I submit photos that merit good ratings and then receive good ratings but then just one person gives an idiotic rating and lowers the average for that photo by a huge amount which is difficult to recuperate. I try to give realistic ratings when I vote. I dont like to be unkind but also be honest. I have a theory that because of that I have upset someone who follows me by giving a vote which in their opinion is too low and that person I feel tries to retaliate. (I hope I am not being over dramatic) I return to say thank you very much Graham

Hi Pedro, I agree that some people appear to give low ratings just for the sake of it. As to why they do it, I have no idea. It could be as you say or they look at the section about the person and see they are not a professional, as in my case, or that their gear is not the best, again as in my case. But it is the best I can afford. So although I welcome constuctive comments and do get a buzz from getting an extra three downloads, I am using fstoppers in the hope that people will start to be constructive rather than just give a 1 or 2 star fuck you( excuse the language) rating anonymously.
Like yourself all I want to do is improve. Happy snapping.

Hi Graham. Have you ever done this?- I wrote a long reply to your message. I hadnt quite finished but was then called away to something else expecting to resume and send my reply. NO! I lost everything I had written!. So start again. I am pleased to see that you think much the same as me about low votes, low equipment, unfair low votes etc. Equipment - it seems that only the rich and or stupid spend those thousands on equipment, although it is nice to upgrade a bit when and if you can afford it. I Once I got onto Sony, I went through A7I, A7II and am A7III. Now not working so limited budget and also no need to upgrade to A7IV (also with the extra MB count you probably need to upgrade computer gear also-forget it. Also it becomes so complicated to "move into" a new camera or software. Anyway, I am rambling. I am grateful for your support and keen to help you if I can. I am not trying to say that I am better than you or anything like that, but, just maybe with my 50 pro years I can suggest something that might improve your shots. This is a non-commercial offer with no ulterior motive. I would just offer straight opinions which you could take or leave. There would be no problem with me if you reject this offer now or comments in the future. If you want to go ahead you would send me low res shots to my email or Whatsapp
