Sunrise at El Tatio geyser field in the Andes, Chile. At 4320 meters the geyser field is the third largest in the world and the largest in the southern hemisphere. To photograph the steam you need to be there early in the morning when it is still very cold.
Juergen, while doing some research I came across an image by David Muench title “El Tatio Geyers II” 2009, Volcanoes on Altiplano Atacama Desert CHILE an immediately recognized it because of yours.
Paul, I have seen many photos from David Muench, mostly US National Parks. I googled it and found the image you are referring to. Looks like he's doing now a lot of International work.
