Parade of planets

I captured this panorama of the recent celestial alignment in the predawn hours of Thursday June 24th, 2022.

It covers a wide 136° FOV of peaceful western Minnesota prairie. An ancient and spiritual land carved out by a massive glacier and once inhabited by the Lower Dakota Sioux natives. Spending the night alone out there it’s easy to see why they loved these lands so much. The rich dew laden grassland dappled with magnificent granite outcrops and the odd lone prairie oak all being serenaded by a symphony of song birds. Add clear skies and a fantastic astronomical event such as this and you have the making for an unforgettable memory.

These celestial bodies were also joined in line with Uranus between Venus and the Moon, and Neptune between Jupiter and Saturn. However they were not bright enough to capture.

It was my intention to also capture mercury but by the time it had risen the chasing sun was too bright. It may have also been obscured by the low clouds on the lower left of the frame.
