There’s something about the way she leans in—curious, present, yet guarded—that feels incredibly human. I remember the quiet of the moment, the way the light barely kissed her face and legs, giving just enough to draw you in. The green coat, understated and strong, felt like an extension of her mood—elegant but unspoken. What I love most is the contrast: softness in her expression, tension in her posture, and the darkness that surrounds her like a frame of solitude.
This image is part of The Melbourne Portraits Project: A Photographic Ode—a body of work that began with spontaneous street sessions and grew into something much more personal. Each portrait became a conversation, a shared moment, and this one lingers with me still.
