(Almost) Full Moon, 2025

This image is such a victory for me. I have loved taking photos of the moon ever since my very first DSLR, but was never quite able to get as close and sharp as I wanted. Recently, my dad gave me my late uncle's old 2000mm Meade telescope, and I knew exactly what I wanted to do with it. With the help of some coworkers, we got it cleaned up and ready to use.

Taken with my Sony a7riii, this is a composite of three different images. The top and bottom of the moon were taken separately because the full moon was too big for the frame. And then the stars were a shot of the sky I took so the background wasn't just black.

It made not be much different than any other shot of the moon that anyone has seen, but for me this is a huge win. I'm so proud!
