The Work Bench

I have a house that is over 100 years old. When we bought it, I got to keep the workbench that was in the basement. It's been there a LONG time. The date of it's creation is unknown, but the anvil bolted to it is from 1912. I love the character of this bench. It tells the story of a long, hard life of being used and put to work for a better purpose. The beautiful things that were created on this bench have left it scarred and beaten up. It's weathered appearance, holes, dirt, dust, scrapes and deeply ingrained stain, are proof of it's usefulness. It's been a good tool for the craftsmen that have used it. It deserved a portrait.
