Taken as part of a personal project to capture portraits of security personnel. The image is a composite, with the portrait being captured in the studio and the background added later in post.
The soldier was lit in the studio with three strobes - two strip light soft boxes behind to create a rim light around the subject and a medium gridded soft box as the key light at 45 degrees to the subject, camera right (gridded to minimise light spill).
Post production was done in Photoshop, Lightroom and Nik Silver Efex Pro 2.
Nikon D3, Nikon AFS 24-70mm.
Bowens Gemini 500 studio strobes x 3, medium gridded softbox, gridded strip light softbox x 2, Pocket Wizard radio trigger.
