Getting to shoot a live concert with a 300mm f/2.8 is rare, but a ton of fun. The key here was manual everything. Shooting directly into the stage lighting not only trips up any form of auto exposure, but auto focus as well. The camera really wants to focus on the high contrast lights in the background. Being able to focus Nikon's 300mm f2.8 with my pinky finger while stabilizing the extreme front with my other digits is just another reason the 300mm rocks (pun intended).
