"I’ve always had an interest in macro photography, but only just last month I finally got my hands on a dedicated 1:1 Macro lens. Macro photography gives me the chance to show not only myself, but whoever views my photos the opportunity to see the world from a different perspective.
Every day we’ll come across insects and other small forms of life, but from our height and size they really don’t look interesting so we tend to not take any notice. It’s only when you get down to their size we see just how intricate and detailed everything is. It’s another world.
This shot was taken in my backyard, just on sunset. Four or five wasps tend to hang out on the same tree every afternoon, and most of the time they stay nice and still…which is great for me! I took the photo handheld (in one hand) and holding my flash in the other." -Ryan Devenish
