Today's top 30 April POTD comes from David Trotter, who sent in this information along with the shot:
"Shot with a Nikon D2X 1/50ƒ/5.6ISO 40040 mm January 1, 2012 in Andhra Pradesh, India. This is Nagaraju – one of 25 abandoned children living along the railway who we profiled in a documentary entitled MOTHER INDIA: Life Through the Eyes of the Orphan."
nice picture...both he and his pet look so happy!
FYi - the caption is wrong on the photo. Should be - "Shot with a Nikon D2X 1/50ƒ/5.6ISO 40040 mm January 1, 2012 in Andhra Pradesh, India. This is Nagaraju – one of 25 abandoned children living along the railway who we profiled in a documentary entitled MOTHER INDIA: Life Through the Eyes of the Orphan."
Great to see your photo on here David! Everyone should view the film to see the story behind the photo.
What is at the center of his chest??
The center of his chest contained a hole seeing through to his sternum. This is the result of a nasty infected wound that resulted from an older boy dropping a heavy stone on his chest in retaliation for stopping the older boy from sexually abusing some of the younger orphaned street kids. Tough to hear, but this is part of the daily reality that abandoned children face. www.motherindiafilm.com
