why 1600??? I don't get it. It's daylight. It's 2.8 already! And you still do 1600? wasn't 800 enough? And drop to around 1/200? Please explain your reasoning.

It is possible that this is not the IS lens and this shooter shooter wanted to ensure 100% sharpness by cutting out any chance of motion blur.
That being said 1/400th would have probably been ample assuming this shooter doesnt have parkinsons.
