"This was shot in downtown Charlotte, NC out front of the Bank of America building.
The girl in this picture is 9. She's the daughter of a close friend of mine who used to model but stopped to start a family. This is our second shoot together, the first having been in the studio. We were playing around with accessories as I love to do when she put on this scarf. When I saw it looking like the picture, I yelled, 'don't move.' Grabbed my camera and shot twice. This is the best of the two. The Nikon 70-300mm lens is my go-to as it consistently brings me images like this.
Done in P.S. CS3. Mostly, I utilized blending modes to achieve the desired affects. No plug-ins were used.
The shallow depth of field and lovely background courtesy of that particular lens. This was shot at f/4.5 with no blurring of the background used.
Her mother is also does hair and is an experienced MUA as well as being a former pro model. I still shoot with this girl on a consistent basis as she has proven to be a natural in front of the camera."- Tim Eavey
