"Went to the mountains one weekend for a family event. Woke up at 5am sunday morning with the intent of grabbing some wonderful morning light (should have woke up at 3 since I needed to find a spot first). I am driving on the blue ridge parkway peeking at every spot looking for where the light is rubbernecking like a madman and sunrise is approaching at 6:15am. I finally get to this spot and its 6:10. It wasn't even a real spot, it was a break in the trees and I had to pull off to the side and squeeze the car off the road somehow.
Throwing the door open and grabbing the tripod, camera and lens all felt like one continuous motion since I was so excited to get some nice light in.
I'm not a landscape photographer by any means, (portrait and wedding photographer) but love to try new things." -Shawn Robertson
