"I have been shooting automotive photography since I first picked up a camera a few years back. I get the chance to shoot some pretty amazing machines from classic cars to race cars, and I always learn something new about them. My recent focus has been strictly motorsports since I was brought on full-time to work for a professional Indy Car team. Had the incredible opportunity to work with Tony Kanaan last year as he took the checkered flag at the Indianapolis 500, so was able to be apart of something I never dreamed of. I am now working with the same team KVSH Racing and their new driver Sebastien Bourdais for the 2014 season, extremely excited for what is to come!
The Porsche 550 Spyder is one of my favorite cars, I love everything about it. This replica built by Vintage Motor Cars had a lot of custom work done to it. Jeremy Cliff and I were shooting this car for The Last Detail in North Chicago, IL. They do restorations and work with classic cars and we get the frequent chance to work with them shooting some of their cars they get in. We always light paint these cars that we shoot for them because they love the way it shows all the curves. This was shot with a 5D Mk II and a 24-70L 2.8. We used a small video LED light to light this. This was two exposure combined to get the final image."- Matt Magnino
