"I just got back from my week-long trip to Dubai. Shooting its most famous landmark really was a thrill. The Burj Al Arab is the perfect example for all the crazy architecture you find all around Dubai.
As usual, before leaving for a trip, I research the places I go to in order to find good photography spots. Finding this beach wasn’t that complicated, but getting there was a bit more complicated… Dubai is such a big city and even if things seem to be close, they are actually a long long walk away. Thankfully taxis are really cheap.
The sky was really great on this day. While the day had been hazy, the evening was now very clear and nice small clouds had formed behind the Burj Al Arab and right in front of the Sun which was about to disappear behind the horizon. There was still a lot of wind too, so al in all, pretty good conditions to do some long exposure shots.
In PP, I worked on one single RAW exposure, boosting the colors and playing around with curves, burning and dodging to attract the eye to the Burj Al Arab.
I’m pretty happy with the resulting picture. And this is just the first one I worked on from my trip. It will take a few more days, maybe weeks, to look through and post-process my other shots from Dubai."- Christophe Van Biesen
