"This picture was taken during the end of a few hours of shooting on campus at Bethel University in St. Paul, MN. I thought that the fog made everything around campus eerie, calming, and it was a great opportunity to enjoy a beautiful time for a shoot! I shot this image because the location one of the most well known places on campus.
I loved the symmetry of the scene, and it was one of those shots where I immediately had the end image in mind right when I saw the scene. I set my camera, tripod, and remote shutter up to capture the tranquil scene before anything changed. It was quite the fun experience because I had geese surrounding me from behind, and there were a few geese off camera to the left in the water that I had my friend fend off as I shot the images in the panorama. I have always been a lover of shooting black and white images, and there is just a magical touch that black and white adds to this picture. With the seasons changing fast in Minnesota, I view this picture as showing Fall’s last stand before Winter and the lake turns into a place where college students play broom ball all day long."- Nathan Klok
