my name is souleye and I’m a portrait photographer based out of washington dc who specializes in headshots of actors, models, corporate executives and business people. I come from a background of shooting film so I recently reluctantly switched to digital photography. I have an extensive experience in people photography using natural light. for the past ten years, I've been focusing mostly on studio work as it enables me to have more control over lighting. I have always been drawn to people and photography allows me to connect with them. most of my clients are actors who use their headshots for auditions or models who are seeking agency representation. far and in between, I also have business people who need pictures for applications or branding, so I enjoy helping them in their career endeavors. though I have preference over studio photography, I’m also very comfortable shooting on location in natural light. my style can range from photojournalistic to character study, though my early influences were from fashion photographers like guy bourdain, hiro, just to name a few… portrait photography to me is just like blazing new trails of lighting in the journey through the fog of human psychology. I like to experiment with different lighting setup on each shoot to give my clients a wide variety of moods to choose from. the human face is a work of art and when the lighting is right, I can produce photographs of stunning beauty. I truly believe that I’m a people’s photographer.
