GL Woodson Photography & Crafts

I got into photography at a young age thanks to my mother. I started out shooting cassette film and slowly made my way up to DSLR.
I love photography because I love looking back on memories. A lot of my relatives I only know through pictures and the stories behind them. I am the family photographer.
Since I started my full-time job as a journalism teacher, I don't shoot as much of my own work these days. But since I am getting a photography class next year, I am starting to shoot more. I want to preach what I know, and the best way to do that is to have a full portfolio for my lesson plans.
I am trying to build my journalism/yearbook/photography program because I have some very talented students that need a someone to give them a space to stretch their creative muscles.
I love to shoot in black and white because I feel it captures the most emotion. I like my work to make people feel something.
Learning is essential to my life. Practicing my craft and trying new things makes me happy. I am willing and open to learn.
