Chris was raised by the city and tamed by the raw ocean, his friends call him captain. He ran with the wolves of Wall Street for over 20 years before combining his love of the ocean and true ability within photography. Chris’ passion to pursue fine art ocean photography is a way to harness the magic of texture and light that changes with every wave that washes ashore.

Currently he resides in Florida but has traveled the world from the icy waters of Alaska to the tropical waters of Fiji. His travels have a consistent theme; experiencing the orchestra of sounds the oceans create. From the rhythm of the salt water hitting the sand, the beat of the waves crashing, to be immersed in the rhythmic beat of the captivating oceans.

The emotions Chris strives to provoke is a sense of calm due to the textures and the colors captured. The receptors in our brain interpret the ocean’s color palate with a sense of peace. He is able share with his viewers the emotional interaction he has in the water. The camera is not the most important tool he has, the most important tool he has his is his vision and desire to capture the essence of the ocean.

He pushes himself and his gear to the limits by being at the mercy of the ocean and the creatures that swim in it. There are times when he gets held under by waves and slammed into the bottom by the tons of water that are being expelled on his body. To capture the treasures of the sea you have to be present in both body and mind.
