I have been interested and shooting since the early 1970's when I lived in Southern California and working in the music industry. I had back-stage access to many famous rock star concerts and have many great shots from both the concerts and backstage incidences. I also was involved with a ballet company here in Central New York and shot their live performances for many years. I have also shot several grand-opening ribbon cutting ceremonies.

More recently, I am doing a lot of artistic floral macro shots. I also have shot many candid portraits of children and am able to "see" just the right time to get their most interesting expressions. On an abstract level, I have won an award for "Most Striking Use of Color" in a yearly local contest. I have also had month long showings at our local libraries. I also love to shoot pets and have sold pet portrait photos to local customers. Since I have been shooting for so many years, my eyes are always on the lookout for anything new and interesting to shoot, i.e. local weather, fields of flowers, interesting buildings, etc.

I don't know a lot about using photo editing software so my images are almost always just as I shot them to begin with. I use both automatic settings and manual settings, preferring the manual settings as I totally understand what all of the settings mean since I've had so much experience shooting with film. I have two Nikon cameras and many Nikon lenses and a few filters.
