Allen Hale
I am a retired professional engineer in the construction industry. I have lived in Northeast Thailand for over 10 years. Previously I lived and worked across the United States, Canada, as well as several international locations including Algeria, Brasil, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam during assignments as part of his former career.
I prefer to now travel in search of the "places less visited" such as Bhutan, Upper Mustang, Bhutan, Cambodia, Chad, Lao People's Democratic Republic, and PNG
My ambition and goal are to show extraordinary people doing ordinary things. In so doing, I wish to show how different people can appear, to provide a glimpse of other cultures, to celebrate the diversity of mankind, and to demonstrate that despite our appearances we are so much alike.
I consider my work to be documentary style photography in that my goal is to capture a real antrue moment at a specific point in time; sort of like “If you had been there then, this is what you should have seen” As such there is very little posing, imposed direction or post processing manipulation in my work.
Although my genre can be considered documentary photography, which some people believe can only be done in black and white, I prefer to work in color for no other reason than the fact, for me, color more accurately and more completely captures the scene.
