Wes Bloemker
My name is Wes Bloemker of Aloha Paradise Photography in Naples, Florida, USA.
When in college, I used photography to earn money to supplement my activities. This was mostly done by shooting weddings, events, working at a camera store and a variety of ad hoc photographic endeavors and genres. After college, my work and hobbies (golf, flying, fishing, etc.) took me away from photography. Retiring a few years ago, I decided to get back into it. Moving from film to digital seemed a bit strange at first.
Upon joining a couple of photography groups in the area, I found a group of people that share my interest in the art of photography and which challenges me to continue to find ways to improve upon my skill level. I am at a point now that branching out into creative and interesting works is attractive. Being realistic, I still have a lot of work and practice to get back to the level I once was as a young photographer. But as I learned in my travels and on the road to Hana, it’s about the journey and the experiences along the way.
I am constantly looking for new and exciting subject material and enjoy a variety of photographic genres, always being happy to collaborate and share ideas and techniques.
