Speaking about yourself is not easy... But neither is posing in front of a lense. So it's fair enough that you know who is standing behind the camera. My name is Aurélien - Aurel for friends. Born in Auvergne, I stopped by Paris for a few years, then settled in Lyon.

After studying computer science - shortly - and foreign languages ​​- quite extensively - I started a 11 years career in journalism (specialized in photo and high-tech).

In this fluctuating course, searching for myself, photography has been there all the time. At least since 2004, when I decided digital technology became serious enough to dive into photography. Technology has always fascinated me. Maybe it matches my Cartesian nature, a bit of a perfectionist.

My conception of the photo? It is as independent as my social regime ... I like a very wide range of genres and styles, as long as my eyes make my brain say "I like it". Yes, in the photo there is only the final image that is frozen.

Criteria are varied - subject, light, message, composition, complexity, creativity, imagination... The balance between all these will make me love it (or not). Aestheticism plays a major role in the mix. Of course, portrait photography is my favorite challenge. I love the human relationship it implies, the truth it carries on. But I am open to all proposals and I like when any new challenge shows off.
