I attended the University of South Carolina, School of Media Arts where I studied audio engineering and photography in the mid 90's. After leaving college I worked in both industries for a couple of years before choosing to pursue a career in audio engineering. I was blessed to tour and work alongside some of the best people in the live production industry before resigning from the company I called home for seventeen wonderful years to accept a job at the University of South Carolina.
I never totally abandoned my camera during the 17 years that I was touring but I didn't really devote a lot time to it either. I did however, stay up to date with Adobe Ps, LrC, Au, Br, and Pr as they developed over the years. This made a huge difference for me when I did decide to pick up my camera again to start shooting.
I love being a creative person and ironically, teaching. I've been assisting professors in the classroom teaching Adobe Ps, LrC, Au, and Pr, as well as assisting students in our photo studio teaching photography and basic studio lighting techniques for the past seven years.
As of late, I'm into shooting lifestyle, editorial and fashion but every now and then I'll get side tracked for a few days or weeks to work on something that I find fascinating so that I can figure out how the photographer created a certain look with a "new to me" lighting technique.
I’m currently adding to my portfolio like a mad man in preparation for graduate school to earn my MFA.
