Dario Mentesana

I discovered photography about 16 years ago when I by chance got my first analog Canon and began experimenting. My vocation before that was as a web developer. In 2009 I bought my first Canon DSLR to refine my technique and try different photographic styles. Subsequently, photos were commissioned by my clients and included on their websites. My artistic turning point was in 2011 when I was gifted a Canon 6D Full Frame for Christmas. This device and my desire for knowledge opened the doors for commercial professional photography. At once I investigated and laid my path in Still Life and Food Photography (with all the branches of development, from the web to print) and finally nature photography.
During these years traveling abroad to photograph places I felt I had missed became more frequent. As Travel and Nature Photography became more popular I began selling high-quality prints. I teach introductory photography courses at different locations in Palermo: Mazara del Vallo and Trapani.
In my opinion, continual education is necessary to hone professional skills. I am also an eternal student and I am now completing a series of refresher courses to deepen my knowledge of new photographic techniques.
