Jiří Švestka

My journey as a nature photographer began in 2019 when I discovered my passion for photographing the living Czech nature, especially birds and animals living in human care. My goal is not only to document the beauty and diversity of nature, but also to help people better understand our world and all its inhabitants. In my photographs I try to capture both the details of animal beauty and to show animals in their natural habitat in a comprehensive way. I am not just a photographer. I am also a birdwatcher and a member of the Czech Ornithological Society, which allows me to have a deeper understanding and respect for our feathered friends.

My fascination with the colours, textures and uniqueness of our nature has given me the courage to embark on a journey full of unknowns and surprises. My photographs are not just ordinary snapshots - they are stories I tell through my subjects captured in photography. My work reflects a deep respect and admiration for nature.
