Joubert Loots

Joubert Loots is a South African based social documentary Photographer. He has completed his studies in photography at Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University in Nelson Mandela Bay and is currently working as a freelance documentary Photographer.

Throughout his life Joubert has had opportunities to meet people who come from cultural, social and economic backgrounds that are more challenging than his own. It is the friendships made through these encounters that have fuelled his enthusiasm for photography’s ability to tell untold stories. These are the realities he hopes to share through the faces portrayed in his documentary and street photography essays.

Joubert finds inspiration from his faith, humanity and nature. A combination of these forms the creative arena through which he explores his own identity. As an artist Joubert views creativity as an aid toward self-development and he hopes to use his work as visual communication of a message that might evoke reflection from his audiences.
