I consider myself a designer that gets amazed trying new arts & crafts techniques, and crazy about software, computers, and new gadgets. Photography combines both worlds perfectly.
During the past 15 years, I found myself several times looking into photography taking family portraits beyond snapshots and always wondering about if that was something I would really like to do, but never decided it until about four years ago when I bought my mirrorless camera. At that time, I was afraid of going all the way to DSLR and I fell in love my Sony NEX 5. I always had been the "unofficial" family photographer and with this new camera I got the chance to go beyond automatic. I learned how to shoot manual, and take the family portraits one step forward. I also learned how to take pretty good product photos of my handmade items.
Last December, I finally lost the fear and bought my first DSLR. I couldn't be happier of taking the leap. I've been learning, shooting, traveling TONS more, and happily carrying all the heavy equipment I've been acquiring for the past months everywhere. Now, I'm so in love with photography, that has been hard for me to choose a field. I want to shoot everything I see around me being my favorites street photography and headshots. Right now I feel I'm step much closer to become a professional photographer and I'm planning saving $$ to setup a home studio and to be able to assist one of the Peter Hurley's workshops in NY, and maybe in the near future, move there.
